Flat is now available
After 6 months of work, Flat has officially been approved by Apple and is now available on the App Store.
Flat is an attempt to create a calmer, more focused place for the things you read, watch, and listen to. A modern feed reader combined with a save-it-for-later app, without algorithms, or the pressure of endless unread counts.
No unread counts. No pressure. No algorithms.
You can follow websites, blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels, Reddit communities, Mastodon accounts, Bluesky feeds, and more, all in one place and in chronological order.
Interesting things can be saved to the Stash for later reading, listening, or watching, including offline support and cross-device sync via iCloud.
A few things that mattered to me while building it:
- chronological timelines instead of algorithmic ranking
- no unread counters and no pressure
- easy-to-use and delightful user interface
- RSS, podcasts, YouTube, Reddit, Mastodon, and Bluesky support built-in read-it-later functionality
- share content from any other app to consume later in Flat
- offline support for saved content
- Podcasts & videos that remember where you left off
- iCloud sync without accounts or own servers
- clean native apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac
Flat is free to use as a read-it-later app and with up to 10 feeds. Flat Pro unlocks unlimited feeds.

Thank You, TestFlight Testers
A huge thank you to everyone who tested Flat over the past months, reported bugs, shared ideas, and helped shape the app before launch. Flat genuinely would not be where it is today without your feedback.
The current public TestFlight will be closed on Friday, May 29. If you want to continue using Flat, please switch to the App Store version before then.
For future development, there will be a new invitation-only TestFlight group with limited seats and is meant for people who want to try new builds regularly and share feedback. If you want to contribute, please make sure to apply here.
As a small thank-you, I’ll also give away 5 lifetime Flat Pro licenses to especially active testers.
If you’d like to be considered, me and tell me:
- what you value most about Flat
- what you’d still like to see improved
- whether you’d be open to having a short quote featured on the Flat website
I’ll always ask for explicit permission before publishing anything publicly. If you’d like to be considered, me.
