Moment
A radically simple mood logger born out of journaling fatigue.
Log your mood for the day in just three taps.
Based on the well-established valence scale.
Moment is a minimal mood logger designed as an antidote to overgrown journaling apps.
After using many different diary and journaling apps, one thing became clear: Capturing your mood is often the most important part, and usually buried under too much noise. Moment strips that noise away.
What it offers
- Log your mood for the day in less than 10 seconds
- Simple valence scale from negative to positive
- Optional context labels and free text, if you want to add more
- Exactly one mood per day, always editable
- All data lives in Apple Health
- Clean, calm interface designed for daily use
- Clean widgets that show whether today’s mood is logged
- Optional daily reminder (if you want a nudge)
- Supported languages: English and German
Why it exists
Journaling can feel great. But it also comes with the risk, to become too much and then you stop doing it. Too many fields. Too many prompts. Too much expectation.
Moment was created to remove that risk. It focuses on one core signal, your overall mood for the day, and makes capturing it so fast and pleasant that it rarely takes more than three taps, far fewer than logging the same data directly in Apple Health.

FAQ
Is Moment a journaling app?
No. Moment focuses on logging your mood for the day. Writing and context are optional.
Does Moment analyze or interpret my mood?
No. Moment records data only. It does not generate insights or evaluations.
Why does Moment require Apple Health?
Apple Health is the single source of truth. Moment does not store data itself and relies entirely on Apple Health for persistence and access by other apps.
Why use Moment instead of logging mood directly in Apple Health?
You can log your mood directly in Apple Health. Moment exists to reduce friction, the same daily entry takes three taps instead of several and stays focused on a single, calm interaction.
Who is behind this app?
Moment is created by me, René Fischer.
